Prep Hockey
Our Smoky Mountain Prep program at age groups 10U to 14U will compete in the Southern Youth Travel Hockey League A2 Division (SYTHL). Please let Mike Craigen (mcraigen@coolsportstn.com) know if you are trying out for Lady Wild but would also like to tryout for the 10U or 12U co-ed Prep program.
Our 8U prep team will play an independent tournament and friendly game schedule from Oct-Mar.
In addition to all players participating in the local Cool Sports Rec/House league, the Prep group will practice bi-weekly and play in at least two tournaments out of town.
Ages
It is the intention as long as interest and skill support to have a select team each year at the 8U, 10U, 12U, 14U levels.

Practices are Bi-Weekly during the winter rec season.

ALL 2024-2025 Smoky Mountain Wild PREP player apparel is the same as last season EXCEPT practice jerseys & socks.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Participation in the select program requires mandatory rec league sign up. Select is an add-on to rec league.
All 10U players must be prepared to participate in a MANDATORY leveling tournament in Huntsville, AL on August 10th and 11th if selected.
2024-2025
KAHA and Cool Sports recommend the Prep Program for any player enrolled in Rec/House programs who want additional program options, practices and out of town games.
You will need an active USA Hockey registration number to sign-up and attend the tryout. You can check the status of your registration number by clicking here.

The tryout fee for the 2024-2025 prep season is $25.00. If you have previously tried out for the travel program, there is no additional select cost.
Teams will be selected based on evaluations by the hockey director and head coach.
Participation in the tryout, or a previously arranged evaluation, is mandatory for being considered for a team roster spot.
