Winter League
The Winter Rec League is the perfect entry point into the game of hockey, designed for beginner to intermediate players. The program focuses on skill development in a fun and supportive environment, helping players enjoy the game and prepare for more competitive levels.

PREREQUISITES
Players of all skill levels are welcome in the Winter Rec League! Our passionate team of volunteer coaches, led by the KAHA Coaching Staff, is committed to helping every player grow through teamwork, skill-building, and friendly competition.
Is Your Player Ready?
Before joining the Winter Rec League house program, players should have basic skating and stick-handling skills.
Recommended Prerequisites:
We suggest that players complete at least one of the following programs:
- π§ Little Preds Learn to Play (LTP) Hockey
- πΎ Lil Wild (formerly known as LTP 2.0) β one to two sessions
- π 8U (Mites) Program participation
These programs help ensure players are confident on the ice and ready for the fun and challenge of league play.

- 10U β Squirt Division
Birth Years: 2014*, 2015, 2016*
- 12U β Peewee Division
Birth Years: 2012*, 2013, 2014*
- 14U+ β Bantam / High School Division
Birth Years: 2008β2009*, 2010, 2011, 2012*
* Exceptions may be made for younger or older players on a case-by-case basis, based on skill and team needs.
Season Duration
The Winter Rec League is a 5-month program that runs from mid-October through mid-March. It's our longest and most popular seasonβperfect for players looking to build skills, grow with a team, and enjoy consistent game and practice time throughout the winter.

Each division in the Winter Rec League follows a consistent weekly schedule designed to balance skill development and game experience:

- 1 Station-Based Skill Practice per Week
- 1 Half-Ice Game per Week (8U)
- 1 Full-Ice Game per Week (10U-14U+)

- 8U (Mites): $600 + $50 KAHA Admin Fee
- 10U (Squirts): $800 + $50 KAHA Admin Fee
- 12U (Peewees): $800 + $50 KAHA Admin Fee
- 14U+ (Bantam / High School): $800 + $50 KAHA Admin Fee

Goalies in the 10U - 14U+ divisions receive a 50% discount:
- 10U - 14U+ Goalies: $400 + $50 KAHA Admin fee

- Full payment is made at the time of registration.

USA Hockey Registration
All skaters must be registered with USA Hockey before participating in any on-ice activities, as required by KAHA.
How to Register:
- Complete your childβs registration at USA Hockey.
- After registering, you will receive a confirmation email with your childβs USA Hockey Confirmation Number.
You will need this number to enroll in any KAHA program.
π¨ Reminder: No player will be allowed on the ice without a valid USA Hockey registration.
